Everyone remembers the WB / CW series Charmed dvd seasons that centered around 3 sister witches who battled evil while trying to maintain a regular life. The series lasted 8 seasons beginning in 1998 and ending in 2006. It was the longest running television series with women as leads. The series developed a huge following and even a book series based on the show.
When the series ended there was an outcry for more Charmed dvd box set and the fans are getting what they want- well sort of. The series will be returning but in graphic novel form. Zenescope Entertainment has obtained the rights to Charmed series dvd and will be publishing a graphic novel series. Paul Ruditis and Raven Gregory is reported to be the writers while Dave Hoover will be the artist.
There is talk that since this is in paper form and that all things are possible in the Charmed dvds world that fans may see the come back of Prue Halliwell and Cole Turner.
They are hoping to successfully pick up where the series left off while also making it possible for new fans to jump in and enjoys the novels even if they were never a fan.
Charmed dvd box sets #0 is to be released in June on line as well as your local Comic Book Store like Lexington's A Plus Comics and Collectibles Inc.
The series did one show about vampires. In Season 4, the Episode " Bite Me" has Paige being seduced and turned into a vampire. See the clip below for part of the show.
Also, there is a Kentucky tie to the buy Charmed dvd series as well. Wes Ramsey who played the adult Wyatt on the series was born in Louisville, KY. He has played in Heroes, CSI: Miami Season dvd, Days of Our Lives and also starred in Bram Stoker's Dracula's Guest where he played the lead of Bram Stoker.
